Galaxy Note to be Showcased in Lahore, Karachi Posted: 21 Mar 2012 10:48 AM PDT Samsung recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note – the first tablet and smart-phone hybrid. In continuation of the successful activities at the global level, Samsung Galaxy Note Studio is now being organized in Pakistan, where the enthusiasts can experience its fascinating features. The event will continue at the Mall of Lahore from 23rd to 25th March, 2012 and at Park Towers Karachi from 30th March to 1st April 2012. The Galaxy Note provides unmatched ease in capturing those "big ideas" using Samsung's sophisticated inpen-input technology – the "S pen", which accurately digitizes sketches, artworks and handwritten text. At the Galaxy Note Studio, skillful artists and sketchers will draw free caricatures of the participants, using the revolutionary "Caricature" feature in the smart-phone. These caricatures will also be printed onto T-shirts & Mugs and presented to the participants as souvenirs. Samsung Pakistan's Managing Director, Mr. John Park said; "The Samsung Galaxy Note was designed by observing "How consumers generate ideas" as they take cues from their environment and capture them through images, designs and text. These bright ideas can now be captured swiftly and shared from anywhere. The Galaxy Note runs on a 1.4 GHz Dual Core processor that allows seamless multi-tasking between apps. It also features 1 GB of RAM coupled with 16 GB internal storage (32GB variant also available). Its 5.3 inch HD Super AMOLED full-touch screen, comes with an 8 Mega-Pixel camera for and video (285 Pixels per inch) and high-speed wireless connectivity with HSPA+. Ufone Sponsors Traffic Discipline Campaign Posted: 21 Mar 2012 10:31 AM PDT Taking another step forward in being a socially responsible organization Ufone sponsored the launch of Islamabad Traffic Police's lane discipline campaign. The objective of this campaign is to educate the drivers of Islamabad about the importance of maintaining one's lane. Inspector General of police, Bani-Amin Khan was the chief guest for the occasion and inaugurated the campaign. At the launch Ufone helped uplift the face of I-8 Garden Chowk Lane by marking the road lanes with paint, installing sign boards and painting of kerbstones. Ufone has also displayed public service messages regarding lane discipline across major highway routes in Islamabad. The atmosphere was made lively by traffic police volunteers dressed up as cartoon characters and children dressed in fancy costumes. A number of volunteers were seen handing out flyers which contained information on the importance of lane discipline. To project a soft image of the ITP, candy and flowers were also distributed amongst the general public. Salman Wassay, Chief Commercial Officer at Ufone and Akbar Khan, Chief Marketing Officer at Ufone were also present at the event. They interacted with the children present on the occasion and took part in handing out the information flyers to the general public along with IG Police. Speaking on the occasion, Salman Wassay said that Ufone was well aware of its social obligation towards the populace and the organization strived to ensure that they supported public service causes such as the 'lane discipline campaign'. He praised the dedication shown by ITP and said that such efforts are what made it an exemplary model for the whole nation. He further stated that Ufone's corporate strategy echoes its long standing commitment of balancing social responsibility alongside growth and productivity. Mobilink Donates 2000 School Bags to PEF! Posted: 20 Mar 2012 10:40 PM PDT The Mobilink Foundation has donated 2,000 school bags, made from recycled advertising material, to the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF). The school bags were formally handed over by Mobilink Foundation at a ceremony organized at the PEF's Rawalpindi Regional Office. The ceremony was also attended by principals and students of 32 schools from North Punjab. Chairman PEF and senior officials of Mobilink addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of supporting education for the masses, followed by distribution of bags amongst students. Omar Manzur, Director Public Relations and CSR, Mobilink highlighted: "The Mobilink Foundation is deeply committed towards making a difference in the lives of the underprivileged across Pakistan. The recycled bags allow us to contribute on the dual fronts of protecting our environment, as well as providing children with a durable educational aide. I would like to express my gratitude to the Punjab Education Foundation for giving us this opportunity to support the educational pursuits of the children." Raja Muhammad Anwar, Chairman PEF, added: "Punjab Education Foundation is working to expand its educational programs across Punjab, opening the doors of quality education to more male and female deserving students. We are grateful to Mobilink for providing us with bags for our students." Mobilink's recycled school bags are produced from used panaflex sheets acquired from advertising billboards of Mobilink and other donating companies. The Mobilink Foundation launched the 'Recycled School Bags' initiative in 2007, and has since donated over 37,000 bags, to organizations such as the JAQ Educational Trust, CARE Foundation, Zindagi Trust, Sindh Education Foundation and now the PEF.
