Jaisa Karo Gay Waisa Bharo Gay: Wasim Akram Ditches Mobilink to Join Ufone Posted: 15 May 2012 09:40 PM PDT Wasim Akram, the legendary cricketer also known as "King of Swing" has left Mobilink to join Ufone as its brand ambassador. Once the brand ambassador for Mobilink, Wasim Akram appeared in a Ufone TVC that was aired yesterday. Ufone showed Akram playing with a ball in a prison cell (replicating Tom cruise's scene in Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol) and then breaking the jail (in Shawshank Redemption manner) to eventually run after the car filled with Ufone guys. This was probably the best shot Ufone could play for a MNP ad. On a side note - the phrase: Jaisa Karo Gay Waisa Bharo Gay fits well here. As Mobilink had snatched Ali Zafar from Telenor, and now Ufone did the same with Mobilink. This trend may trigger a new race of snatching brand ambassadors from other operators. Meanwhile have a Look at Ufone’s TVC below: Related posts:

Ufone Develops Play Area and Hosts a Carnival at the SOS Village Posted: 15 May 2012 09:00 PM PDT Advocating its commitment of spreading smiles and bringing joy to the children across Pakistan, Ufone held a fun carnival for the children of SOS village on the 14th of May 2012 to inaugurate the recently developed play area. SOS Pakistan recently built a new establishment in Islamabad boasting a spectacular facility but was in dire need for swings for the children to enjoy. Ufone took up the task of putting up the swings and hosting a fun filled carnival which comes in the wake of a successful plantation activity at the SOS villages of Lahore and Islamabad. The members of the Ufone Volunteer Group took a dynamic part in all the activities. For the entertainment of the kids jumping castles along with carnival rides were set up which were thoroughly enjoyed by all and sundry. The children were fascinated by the cotton candy treats and the mischievous clown who danced and did tricks for them. A refreshments corner was arranged with an unlimited supply of drinks and food for the children to snack on in between all the fun they were having. Additionally a dance competition and musical chairs was also organized and gifts were distributed amongst the winners. Akbar Khan, Chief Marketing Officer at Ufone, joined the children in their enthusiasm and shared a special moment of bonding with them as together they enjoyed the magic show and story-telling competition. Ufone, one of the leading telecom companies in the country, has been at the forefront of many social initiatives which have been taken to benefit the populace. Since inception Ufone has been a socially responsible organization, and over the last few years, has carried out various CSR projects related to child health care, mentor and counseling programs for school going children and on highlighting the need for a green and healthy environment. On the occasion, Akbar Khan said, "Just looking at the elation and eagerness on the faces of all these young children gives us so much satisfaction. Ufone wishes to strengthen its bond with SOS Children's Villages as these children are our future. He stressed upon the need for maintaining a healthy environment for the children of Pakistan and emphasized that physical exercise was very important which will be facilitated by the newly set up play area. He said that these children should be nurtured into becoming leaders of tomorrow and committed that there would more such fun initiatives in the forthcoming months as Ufone believes in spreading smiles and bringing delight to the children of Pakistan".
