Fawad Khan of Humsafar Endorses Telenor Talkshawk Posted: 29 Jan 2012 07:31 PM PST By Tehniat of KoolMuzone The recent advertisement for Telenor TalkShawk shows Fawad Khan (yes, the recent heartthrob of the Pakistani women) as the ambassador for TalkShawk. Fawad Khan's become quite a star due to his recent work in a couple of television serials, specially 'Humsafar'. Seemingly Telenor is in effort to get its talkshawk brand rolling after it lost Ali Zafar to Mobilink. Fawad Afzal Khan is known as a renowned Pakistani actor, singer and a model. He started his acting career by working in a comedy serial 'Jutt and Bond' and found fame at quite an early age – 22 years. Khan acted in various serials such as 'Dil Dey Kay Jayein Gey' (2000), 'Satrangi' (2008), 'Jeevan Ki Rahoon Mei' (2009), 'Daastaan' (2010), 'Akbari Asghari' (2010), and the most watched 'Humsafar' (2011). But he's most famous for working in Shoaib Mansoor's film, 'Khuda Kay Liye' (2007) which gave a great boost to his acting career; landing him in more television serials. We've seen him in a few television commercials for companies like Mobilink, Pepsi and Olpers. But his recent link with Telenor TalkShawk might be the next big thing in his life, especially as an actor if we see how Ali Zafar, the former Telenor TalkShawk ambassador, got known and landed at Bollywood. Directed by Saqib Malik, watch the Telenor TalkShawk TVC below:

Mobilink Unblocks Facebook & Twitter for Blackberry Posted: 29 Jan 2012 07:15 PM PST Mobilink has unblocked apps for social networking websites – including Facebook and Twitter, which were blocked since May 2010 – for their BlackBerry customers. Mobilink managed to restore applications for BlackBerry users after developing a content filtering solution which blocks specific pages of a website, company's director of public relations and corporate social responsibility Omar Manzur told Express Tribune. Mobilink BlackBerry users can now browse the internet and access the apps of Facebook and Twitter from their smartphone, he added. Mobilink is not the only company to have developed a content filtering solution. Ufone also restored the same apps for its BB users after consulting with Research In Motion – Canada-based manufacturer of Blackberry – last December. The development will likely result in other telecom companies to develop similar technology to protect its customer base. The apps were banned in 2010 following the orders from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to block FB and other websites containing blasphemous content across Pakistan. The move was triggered by a contest on FB that invited participants to draw caricatures of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). PTA lifted the ban from Facebook but directed telecom companies to permanently block pages with blasphemous content. RIM didn't have content filtering technology to block specific pages as a result the telecom sector had to block the entire website. Via Express Tribune Related posts:

How to Keep Your (Smart) Phone Safe Posted: 29 Jan 2012 07:05 PM PST There is a saying: things are made to be broken. Yes it doesn't sounds quite comfortable but it maybe is true. Every thing that a person acquires usually ends up being broken or damaged. However, there are some ways which can help you in making your phone last longer. Here are some: - Always keep your phone away from dust, water, sand and things related to them. They are among your phone's worst enemies. - Keep your phone in a cover or a case. Your phone might not look so good but a case will really protect your phone. In case of an iPhone, you can buy a bumper which can indeed protect your expensive phone. After all, the phone itself is SO expensive. - Don't keep your phone anywhere with its back on top. Some surfaces aren't as smooth as they look and they might scratch your phone screen. - Don't drop your phone. Phones like iPhone have good build quality and design but their glass does break when it is dropped from a height. - Keep your phone away from toddlers and children. They can throw, lick and even break your phone in less time than you think! - Put a screen protector on your phone's touchscreen. The touchscreen is one of the most-used and most-touched parts of the phone. Repair of touchscreen is almost impossible. - Don't put your phone in pocket with other hard things such as keys etc. - Don't install apps from any place other than the official application store. These unauthorized apps might contain viruses. - In case of repair, always take your phone to a good, renown mobile store when. Don't trust casual repair workers. Unofficial stores repair your phone with cheap parts. For example, to repair my phone, they put a 'black LCD' instead of the normal LCD and this resulted into almost zero viewing angles. - Always buy official phone parts (things like back cover). Unofficial ones are usually flawed (sometimes they don't have the logo of the company and wrong resolution of the camera might be written). - Always keep your phone on a flat, smooth surface. This might not sound like a big deal but actually it is very important because the surface might be wet which can damage your phone (especially the screen and camera lens). - Lastly, if you buy a phone, care about it. It is one of the most important things people use nowadays and it contains all your personal information and data. In short, its a gateway to everyone, everywhere. Its more important than we can even think. Take care of it! Related posts:
