Posted: 12 Oct 2011 12:48 AM PDT

Nokia has announced these two new models yesterday, which primarily comes with enhancement in their previous versions. Interestingly, both the models use old naming convention – despite Nokia explicitly announced the use of new naming convention. But never mind, we still have a name to call them.

Other than standard features, the main attraction of both the models is the Ovi Browser, which is in beta, that uses Nokia's own compression technology to serve web pages faster than before. Nokia claims that this browser will deliver web content at a fraction of the bandwidth, and cost, of other mobile phones.

With this announcement Opera Mini will have it's direct competitor in the market, that too with huge share in mid-end devices.

Otherwise, both the handset come with standard features, including social networking apps, VGA camera, FM player with recording facility and so on – and are aimed at mid-end user. Read on to know the details.

The Horasis Global Arab Meeting takes place annually and aims at creating an opportunity for global leaders to meet, engage in business and discuss visions for a sustainable future.

In addition to keynote speeches by industry luminaries, the meeting offers panel-style boardroom dialogue sessions led by the event co-chairs, reflecting on specific opportunities and challenges in the global economic sphere. Blackberry Services Get Lousy

Posted: 11 Oct 2011 10:54 PM PDT

Read this post in Urdu

Millions of Blackberry customers, across four continents, are without email, messaging and browsing services on their devices after a series of infrastructure failures in RIM's network.

Notable service issues were first reported on Monday when service was either delayed or not available in Europe, Africa and Middle East including Pakistan. However, the issue was resolved in less than 24 hours and service got restored.

But shortly after the restoration – due to non-responsive failover server, the serve went down for even more customers, stretching the outage in four out of five continents.

"Although the system is designed to failover to a back-up switch, the failover did not function as previously tested.

As a result, a large backlog of data was generated and we are now working to clear that backlog and restore normal service as quickly as possible,” RIM said in a statement today.

Failover refers to the automatic switching of service to a standby server in the case of a failure of a main system.

We don't have any deadline for restoration of service, but RIM said that it's doing the best to get the servers back online.

This service disruption has occurred at a time when RIM is tackling serious stakeholders' pressure for change in management, a possible sell out or a split in the company.

Company is fearing further decrease in market share after this massive outage to it's rivals iPhone and Android powered devices.
